Description:  Wonderful flowing design gives this late 19th century bracelet an Art Nouveau look!  European in origin, the bracelet has a combination of Neillo and silver links.
What is Neillo?  It is a technique that was used primarily by the Russians and French in the late 19th century.   An ancient technique, it was revived by a German jeweler living in Paris in the early 19th century.  The design caught on later with the popularity of neo-Renaissance style jewelry.   This technique requires the jeweler to engrave a design into a silver item, then, the recesses are filled in with an alloy of silver, copper, lead and sulphur, which is black in color.  The result is striking, as you can see from this bracelet.
