Description: A beautiful Etruscan almandine garnet brooch in its original fitted box. Created around 1870, this 18kt. brooch is a wonderful example of the artistry of Victorian goldsmiths. The creator of this brooch utilized two ancient techniques: granulation and twisted wire work. Each of the tiny beads or pieces of twisted wire would have been painstakingly created, then positioned by hand and soldered into place.
