Year: 1860-80
Description: To the Victorians, the sparrow
carried messages of love and affection. Turquoise
was the stone that symbolized remembrance.
This sterling brooch has a locket back and is adorned with turquoise.
The earrings are sterling and have a faint gold wash. They
too are adorned with turquoise (and pearls). Cabochon
garnets are set in the eyes on both the brooch and the earrings.
