Victorian 18kt. eagle that can be worn as a brooch or pendant

Dimensions:  approx. 3/4 inch from head to tail and 2 inches long;
more precisely 2.2 cm by 5.3 cm;  18kt. gold and weighs 14.3 grams

Condition: excellent, no damage or restoration

Year:  1860-80

Description:  Superbly crafted and versatile, this heavy 18kt. gold eagle can be worn as a brooch or a pendant. The pin and the clasp unscrew so that the eagle lays perfect flat when worn as a pendant. This type of mechanism is only found on the finest antique French jewelry.
