Victorian sterling silver enamel brooch

Description:  Victorian silver locket back brooch with vibrant enamel work.  On the front of the brooch, painted in enamel, are "Raphael's cherubs", so named because of their depiction in Raphael's painting Sistine Madonna (1513-1514).   Note, the ornate Rocco silver work surrounding the enamel cherubs.  On the reverse, is a locket; perfect for safeguarding a treasured keepsake.  There is a faint gold wash on the back to keep any silver tarnish away from one's clothing.  Brooch is European in origin.
