Georgian Halley's comet brooch with agate cameo

Description:  Georgian 14kt. yellow gold brooch designed to commemorate the return of Halley's comet in 1835.  The brooch has an agate (hard stone) cameo that is finely carved. This is a very unusual comet brooch; the first I have seen with a cameo. 
In 1757, the English astronomer Edmond Halley (1656-1742) identified a re-occuring comet.  Halley's comet appears every 75-76 years and will next appear in 2062.
