Condition: shell cameo is in excellent condition, no cracks, wear or stress lines; the top of the frame has a small, old repair. This can only be seen if you look down onto the frame.

Description: This much sought after shell cameo has fine detail and is in excellent condition. Note the feathering on the wings and the accoutrements of war which lie in the lower right hand corner. This cameo carving is Phoebus and his horses which is also known as Peace halting the horses of Mars. The pinchbeck frame has nice chase work.
