Description: The Gimmel ring or twin ring was originally created during the Renaissance period. It consisted of two or more interlocking rings, joined by a pivot, so they could slide together into one ring . . . symbolizing the union of two lives. This unusual French 18kt. rose gold Gimmel ring celebrates the union of two lovers who were married on 4 Juin, 1846. Inscribed inside the ring are their names.
