Item:  Child's memorial ring with hair work on reverse

Dimensions: finger size is almost an 8.25 and can be sized up or down; top is 3/4 inches by 1 and 1/4 inches

Year: dated 1788

Description: The center of the urn on this ring is made from a large painted blister pearl.  The workmanship on this ring is extremely fine and the sepia image is both hair work and paint. On the back is dark blonde hair and inscribed around it is: "Eliz'h Rutt born 5 April 1787 died 18 April 1788".  The hair work on the back is nicely done and is comprised of four "panels" which come to a center point.
