Description: Exceptionally rare Stuart era memento mori ring. The black enamel ring is decorated with a full skeleton, an hourglass and a scythe and shovel. The inscription inside this 18kt. yellow gold ring reads, "Ellen Savage ob 16 Oct 1745 at 83". The ring is pictured in the book, "Mourning Art and Jewelry" by M. DeLorme, page 78.
