Description: Rare 18kt. mourning ring which
commemorates the death of three young people; a 17 year old, an
18 year old and a 12 year old.
The mourning miniature on the front of the ring is hair work on
ivory. The black enamel shank says, "Caroline Dove
ob 16 Aug 1777 aet 18". The white enamel shank says, "Ann
Jacob ob 4 June 1772 aet 17". White enamel was used for
unmarried women. On the back of the ring, is
inscribed, "CE B (born) 28 Oct. 1854 D (died)28 Nov. 1866.
