Description: Exceptional 19th century French scent caddy with three lead crystal perfumes. The opulent box is Kingwood marquetry with mother of pearl inlay and bronze or brass edging. The perfumes are decorated with a heavy gold gilt, which is in pristine condition. The perfumes may have been made by Baccarat as they are numbered in gold on the bottom; a characteristic used only by Baccarat during the Napoleon III era.
This perfume casket is signed by one of the foremost French makers of this period, "Maison Alph Giroux Paris".
It is one of the finest, all original, perfume caskets that I have seen in a long time.
