Description: Delightful Georgian miniature adorns this ivory and tortoiseshell box. Superbly executed miniature depicts Cupid amid a garden of purple pansies (forget-me-nots). This little treasure also contains a good hearted warning, "il les connoit toutes". (This is on the shield underneath the two flaming hearts.) Written in old French, it says: He knows all; meaning that Cupid knows all women and they cannot escape his arrows! To see other images of this item, please click here: photo1 and photo2
