Dimensions:  2.5 inches wide; 2.5 inches long

Condition: no damage or restoration to portrait miniature; minor wear to 18kt. yellow gold frame, some foxing can be seen on hair work side

Year: 1775-1790

Description:  Beautifully executed French portrait miniature with a message of love, in hair, on the reverse (Elles sont amies).  
The portrait miniature and the hair work are both on ivory.  Note the pale pink hue of the ivory on the hair work side.
