Description: As many of you know, I used to collect memorial items but stopped collecting about 12 years ago when I became a full time, professional dealer. This piece is from my private collection. The photos simply cannot do it justice. The picture depicts an angel lovingly guiding the spirit of the dead out of the open tomb and up to heaven. Notice the expression of peace and serenity that is on the face of the spirit. She looks up and raises her arms to heaven. Beneath them, lies the cemetery with its recently opened grave, other tombs, the weeping willow tree, and forget-me-nots. The weeping willow tree not only cascades over one of the tomb but it comes out from the back ground to make a 3-D effect. This is a large, intricate hair art picture. This entire picture is made out of hair..the tombs, the trees, the forget me nots, even the angels wings, hair, fingers robes, etc. are made out of hair! The detail is so good that you can see the angels fingers, the detail of the eyes of the spirit, etc. etc. This is, in my opinion, one of the finest pieces of memorial art I have ever seen. The unique subject matter is evoking and the quality of the hairwork is THE finest. But, I am bias as I have loved this for years. The hairwork is on glass and the frame is ebony wood. The best thing to do is to take a look at these photos, (some will take a long time to download), and then email if you have questions. One thing I promise, is you will never regret adding this to your collection. Here are the photos: 101a.jpg and 101b.jpg
