Item: Sepia painting on ivory stickpin
Reference #:4332
Status: sold
Dimensions: approx. 1 and 1/4 inches by 1 inch
Condition: Excellent; the glass flake on the glass is under the glass and was in the making of the glass--it is not damaged.
Year: circa 1820-40; possibly 1790-1820
Description: This early French miniature is well executed. It is a very touching scene with the one young lady comforting the other or is she leaning on her friends shoulder for support?? They both look so sad. The frame is sterling and gold. I have not cleaned it so it retains its original patina. It can be "shiny" if the owner wants with a quick polish.
