Item: Memorial ring which opens

Dimensions: finger size is 7.5 and can be sized down but not up; top is 1/2 long and 3/8 inch wide
Condition: excellent to near mint
Year: dated 1813
Description: I will say up front that I love this ring so please excuse my exuberance in describing it! The snake, representing eternal life coils around a beautifully enameled urn. and then to make it even better...it opens! Note also that the ring shank has been made to look like part of the snakes body. The inscription on the back says, " Edward Nettleship died 17 aug. 1813 aged 77". The ring is 9kt. rose gold.
