Description: The image on this sepia brooch is big, crisp and has fine detail. I believe that it depicts the gentleman reading to the grieving woman from the book of life. I bought this from a private collector who had researched the symbolism. She is leaning on the cross with and has the lamb (of god) at her feet. Above them, is the tree of life. Look at the visible grief on the woman's face. She looks so forlorn. The beautiful frame is 9kt. rose gold. The work is on ivory. To see the back: 5942a.jpg
